Eating is one of the primary necessities of life all the time. When it comes to man, it is the most wholesome and nutritious activity every day. It is also very important to have full knowledge of healthy and unhealthy food. Unhealthy food can give us more harm than any good. Let’s get some knowledge about the consumption of fats. Fats should not be consumed by more than 30% of calories we require, other important fact, know whether the fat is good and bad fat. Knowing the difference between the two will facilitate us to choose a better and healthier.

Saturated fat – the bad fat, or LDO (low density lipoprotein), unsaturated fat – fat is good or bad fats (a very dense lipoprotein) LIKOPROTEID or saturated fats are usually solid like butter, cheese, fats in meat, etc. d. Intake of saturated fats should be strictly limited. Below are the bad effects of bad fats are:

  1. They can block the arteries that can lead to heart attack or heart failure.
  2. They can raise blood cholesterol levels.
  3. They lead to weight gain. A person may be obese.
  4. A person may be exposed to harmful diseases.
  5. Excessive consumption can lead to cancer.

You need to avoid or reduce these hidden fats foods :

  • saturated fat, butter, milk fat, any meat fats, lard
  • palm or coconut oil
  • hydrogenated fat or hydrogenated vegetable oil
  • shortening
  • tallow
  • monoglycerides and diglycerides
  • trans fat

A good fats or unsaturated fats have positive results on the metabolism. Unsaturated fats are further mono-unsaturated oil and poly unsaturated fats. Olive oil, canola oil and peanut oil are good sources of mono-unsaturated fats. Below are the good effects of good fats:

  1. They help reduce total blood cholesterol levels.
  2. They can prevent some cancers.
  3. They can prevent heart disease.
  4. They are essential for the formation of the cell.
  5. They help in the smooth functioning of the nervous system.
  6. They also help to reduce any inflammation in the body.

There is lots of foods with good fats so you get more health benefits than risks in taken them:

  • nuts, such as peanuts, pecans, almonds and walnuts
  • soy products
  • avocados
  • olive and canola oil
  • fish like salmon, trout, herring and sardines
  • ground flax seed and flax seed oil
  • omega 3 enriched eggs

Now as you know the main differences between them, it will be easier for you to make healthy choices. Fat, whether good or bad, should be consumed in moderation.
